Playing exclusively on Hulu on October 7 as part of the streamer’s annual “Huluween” celebration of fright-filled content is “Hellraiser,” a reimagining of Clive Barker’s 1987 horror classic from director David Bruckner.
In the all-new “Hellraiser,” a young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.
The ensemble cast includes Odessa A’zion, Jamie Clayton, Adam Faison, Drew Starkey, Brandon Flynn, Aoife Hinds, Jason Liles, Yinka Olorunnife, Selina Lo, Zachary Hing, Kit Clarke, with Goran Visnjic and Hiam Abbass.
Bruckner has created notable contributions in anthologies, including the “Amateur Night” segment of “V/H/S” (2012), “The Accident” segment of “Southbound” and an episode of the TV adaptation of “Creepshow”. His first solo-directed feature film, “The Ritual,” based on the novel by Adam Nevill, premiered at TIFF in 2017 and was released as a Netflix original in 2018. “The Night House,” his second solo-directed feature film, was released in 2021 by Searchlight Pictures.
Clayton, who plays the Priest in the film, is best known for her role as Nomi Marks, the San Francisco–based hacker in the Netflix original series “Sense8.” Clayton then went on to star as Sasha Booker in the third season of “Designated Survivor,” opposite Kiefer Sutherland, also for Netflix. She then booked the recurring role of Charlie Cameron in “Roswell, New Mexico.” Clayton was last seen playing Tess Van De Berg in Showtime’s “The L Word: Generation Q.”
Abbass can currently be seen as a series regular on HBO’s “Succession” and recurring on Hulu’s “Ramy,” and recently wrapped shooting “The Old Man” for FX. Her other television credits include “The Promise,” “The State” and “The OA.”
As for Visnjic, he is best known for his leading role in the NBC smash series “ER.” Visnjic was last seen in BBC’s hit series “Doctor Who,” opposite Kat Dennings in the Hulu comedy series “Dollface” and opposite Drew Barrymore in Netflix’s “Santa Clarita Diet.” Additional television credits include an arc on Season 2 of Amazon’s “The Boys”; leading roles in NBC’s series “Timeless,” written by Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke; the European series “Crossing Lines”; in CBS’s “Extant,” opposite Halle Berry; and ABC’s “Red Widow.”
Goran Višnjić Archive is a fansite for Croatian-American actor Goran Višnjić. He is best known for his role as Dr. Luka Kovač on ER, and he has also appeared in films such
as Practical Magic, The Girl With The Dragon
Tattoo, and Fátima. Most
recently he has starred as Garcia Flynn on NBC's Timeless, and as famed inventor
Nikola Tesla in the BBC’s Doctor Who.
